Wednesday, 5 February 2014. A warm welcome from all the children in Room 2. We have had a wonderful holiday and today we celebrate the different cultures in our class and school. We have children with a variety of ancestry. We have Maori, Samoan, Sri Lankan, Irish, East Timorese and Philipino. What a great variety! We are looking forward to a great year! Many Hats and Bad Hair Days. My little life with all the bumps and bruises and blessings. In recent weeks, this video has been making the internet rounds. Though I know I have been guilty of putting on my judgy pants, I know that I try very hard not to be that person. I do not know why a family makes the decisions they do and until I know those reasons, I should not judge. It is time to stop shaming and start listening.
